Hmm, I’ve been trying to work this out myself.

I do use LLMs to try and help me learn, use inquiry-based learning and have it guide me to solutions without telling me the answer, but I’m yet to work out whether I’m actually learning more.

I think it was Socrates who talked about needing a certain level of discomfort in order to learn effectively. I do feel that even with that approach, LLMs don’t provide enough discomfort.

The difficulty for me is that they are simply excellent at retrieving information about certain topics, so it also seems silly to avoid them entirely.

I’d be curious to hear other people’s experiences as well.

I like to use AI for research and learning about new topics, and for occasional code snippets.

I'm not completely sold on the "agent" thing yet, although I do admit they can be pretty fun to use.

I'll have to try it :)

Yeah I stylistically decided to set my titles in all caps, but now thinking about that I'm not sure if it was a good idea...

Not vibe-coded! I just didn't realize that the `prose` mode with Tailwind changes the default text colour set on other pages.

Lesson learned!

I didn't even see that this post got any comments/views on HN - thanks for all of the comments, I've just updated it and hopefully the issues with the colours should be fixed now :)

Hello all, this is my first time ever really using Bash for scripting and I'm having a lot of fun.

The tool aims to help newcomers write better commit messages, heavily inspired by the post "How to Write a Git Commit Message"[0] by cbea.ms.

I hope you find this tool useful, and I'm open to any feedback!
