When I got the prompt it just said "your account age is old enough to prove your age" and didn't ask for any further info.

Would i require some public server side component to handle the call routing etc? (or could you just use something like Google Voice?)

It depends on the technology that you use. You will probably need a small public service, yes even when you're doing WebRTC. With a project like https://oxism.com/trystero you could piggyback it on top of a public decentralized service like Nostr.

I went the DIY route (you can find the details as a parent comment). But, I had good luck with voip.ms as a SIP provider. It is inexpensive at $1.10/month for the phone number and $0.008/min for calling. And it has a pretty good history of user forums, wiki, etc for debugging hints with various hardware.

Kid probably realised his friends all had windows machines that could serve double duty as a gaming machine and wanted some of that action.

My kids school has been giving every kid in the upper school an m1 macbook air and they have to replace a LOT of them. Everything they do is in the cloud (Google classroom, docs etc) so they don't need powerful machines. The school was considering moving to chromebooks but I can see them choosing this instead just to keep their current provisioning workflows etc.

What's the difference between a big company and a criminal gang if not for the law? If it wasn't for the big companies, more dangerous things would be illegal, just like Heroin and other hard drugs.

I mean, it's not often you hear about tobacco dealers shooting each other in a crowded mall, or alcohol bosses getting their house blown up (or sometimes their neighbors house). So there might be a few small differences between companies and criminal gangs.

> or alcohol bosses getting their house blown up (or sometimes their neighbors house).

There was a time when alcohol dealing led to an awful lot of that sort of violence. We put a stop to it when we legalized Alcohol and regulated it.

Adafruit actually focus on CircuitPython which is a fork of Micro Python but takes some of the complexity of Micro Python away. I don't personally like coding in C++ as I started my career with Perl then PHP and Javascript. Writing Python in my own choice of text editor instead of the Arduino IDE is much more my style.

A couple of weeks ago, I bought a 'sensor kit' from Amazon for my son to use with his Raspberry Pi. It includes some input devices (e.g. button, moisture sensor) and output devices (e.g. LED) that can be plugged onto breadboard.

The setup instructions included something to do with CircuitPython. I had not heard of it before then: https://github.com/sunfounder/universal-maker-sensor-kit/blo...

In one of the BBC articles when talking about the ghost gun in his possession, they have added "possibly 3d printed". This is the only place I have seen this mentioned and it's really annoying because there is already enough rhetoric about 3d printed guns and various groups trying to regulate 3d printers, the last thing we need is something as big as this for them to attach to!

Everything is a ghost gun if you're a journalist. Just like how everything is an ar15.

I'm sure this is very interesting but given that you decided to use light grey text on a white background the whole page was unreadable.

Fellow Amsterdam resident here, this kind of layout is very common all over the city (I live in the south of the city but I have seen these all over).

All time stock price high this past week too.
