The whole reason I made it was that the "top down" view never really clicked for me, so when I'm playing it I almost never look at it.

It isn't since there is not much about what it is!

The first sentence of the main site is "D2: Declarative Diagramming - A modern language that turns text to diagrams", followed by multiple code snippets and the resulting diagrams.

I click the thingy and don't see that, I know D2 as the big language split for Dlang, I click around, I still can't tell what this is.

It's diagramming software? Like plantuml or mermaid? It says it right on the tin and with all the examples.

I am very impressed by this model so far. It's faaast and it seems to be just intelligent enough to do really well. It's UI work (simple python UI) is very clean and functional. The UX was 'there'.

+1 for exhausting. Also my experience. Very valuable when you have to write business logic or a complex feature the business will rely on.

Definitely not good for long running work and chasing bugs.

I'm glad the authors seem to have acknowledged the problem and not doing much about it :-)

Per the post, the original authors have requested that the original paper be retracted. That’s well above the bar of “not doing much”.

Actually the post is ambiguous: did the authors want the original article retracted, or the replication by Hyndman and Bisin? I hope the former!

The post is unambiguous if you make it to the very end, where there are particular statements from each of the people involved.

Look for:
