I’d guess that there are instances where the author would and would not agree the line is, but I also think that the subjectives of that line is where people might take issue with this article.

That doesn't make any sense.

First, Islam is as diverse as any global religion. Some branches of it are far more liberal than others. There is no central authority.

Second, even if someone is a member of a conservative religion, it's not necessarily the case that they're an asshole or a bigot. Most people just want to live quietly in peace. Catholicism is another socially conservative religion, but most Catholics are pretty chill and normal. It's not particularly weird for a liberal to be friends with a Catholic.

If they're running around with a megaphone extolling the virtues of white supremacy and ethnic cleansing, that's a different matter entirely.

If you aren't friends with anyone you have a disagreement with, you are friends with no one.

If you have "refine until it's perfect and don't screw with things you don't understand" thoroughly ingrained, along with the dangers of overconfidence, you'll do fine with AI.

Not everyone gets it though, that's for sure.

And, if you want to know if it's mature, I'd trust the user reports over the one liners :)

That's theoretically arguable. Still, for the many reCaptcha users in the world, Google dropped it on them and they are at least temporarily stuck with it. Not everyone has the time or energy to implement another solution, and what solution is better? Cloudflare's infinite turnstile?

Usually I’d just self host but it’s nice having them as a hassle free option.

They seem like a really good company. I love the branding, I love how they keep their servers open while most like Proton only open their clients.

I just switched to an iPhone and I don’t know how this could possibly be the case for you. I get them from a bunch of Apple apps and even in the settings app.

I’m sure there are exceptions, but one could assume that opaque systems are used as tools to encode biases that are advantageous but wrong.

These biases could have existed in code, but opaque agents give much better plausible deniability.

(Caveat here acknowledging one can often assume a lack of malice)
