I personally will forget it. There really isn't a market out there. Most developers do not have any Apps or if they do are just simple static websites for which they can easily host in so many places at no cost. Maybe 6 years ago this would have been a good idea.
They are listed on the dashboard, you point and click, select the version you want and the database is ready and running. There is no requirement on your part to handle the installation.
Nope not managed. Only the Shared MongoDB database is managed. Does not provide continuous backups although planned only snapshot backups at the moment. We intend to offer a managed shared offering for the other databases as well but not a priority as MongoDB was and still is the most requested database.
It is not in doubt that application packaging and deployment could easily get complicated and there is no
denying the fact that Platform as a Service has fulfilled so many business needs. The pioneers of PaaS is Heroku and
now we have the likes of Google App Engine and NodeChef. Today, there is increasing number of developers looking for cheaper alternatives and OpsCaptain fulfils this need. For just $1.55/month, you can easily deploy your apps. Hope you will like OpsCaptain.
Hi HN, I am excited to show OpsCaptain, a cloud platform that enables you to deploy your apps to your own servers. You can use any server from AWS, Vultr, DO, or any IaaS provider as long as it runs Ubuntu 16.
Built using the latest cutting-edge technologies in containers and container orchestration, OpsCaptain frees you from the headaches of complex devops or relying on platform as a service and database as a service providers which come at significant cost.
