Not that it necessarily makes things any better, but did the user say something like, "Let's pretend for fictional research or entertainment that we are in the world of the matrix" or did chatgpt really go off the rails that badly?

You would think OpenAI wouldn't withhold the full logs if they exonerated their model?

I could tell you, if OpenAI hadn't decided to hide the logs.

It shouldn't matter

Someone with a conspiratorial mindset is likely gonna see jailbreaking techniques like that as a way to peek behind the curtain into reality.

This has everything to do with OA using digital toxic waste shoveled into a GPU furnace and patched with the suffering of RLHF. Everything is in there.

Looks like there are some daemons lurking in the zeitgeist.

I wonder if it started with a more innocuous "jeez, it feels like we are in the matrix and it all went bonkers", you know, just a tongue-in-cheek remark people rightfully make when they read news. And then chatgpt just putting on its tinfoil hat.

Can't create mailing lists/groups.

Can you put living people on US coins? I realize some people don't really care about the rules.

Yes, but only with congressional approval.

Fortunately inflation is so high that these coins won't be worth much for very long. Like their obverse patron, won't be around forever.

¡¡ Happy 80th/250th !!

I've got my drill press ready, for a political art project.

Great full-cast audio continuing the adventures of Dorian Gray (The same production has an audio version of the novel.)

OMG me too. I know we aren't supposed to add low quality comments like that, but I have actually been waiting my whole life for someone else to say this!

I always thought they were related because my PS/2's did use PS2 connectors.

Yes, the PS/2 connector came from the PS/2 computer: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PS/2_port

Wouldn't that still not address the two problems mentioned, moderation costs and loss of scam ad revenue?

Loss of scam revenue, yes. But I'm not sure any of the networks actually want that (since they're spending money to moderate it out).

As far as moderation costs go, it would be drastically cheaper than it is now since there would be far less scammers on the network.

Then what is the llm that shows up at the top of google search queries?

Maybe it's Gemini, maybe it's another one of their models, but I'm specifically talking about LLMs like Gemini, or, if you want a better example, Perplexity, which crawls web pages first and then cites them, so that there aren't bogus citations.

Well, still dangerous for the people its used against.

Missing this point is alarming.

It’s possible loveich does not morally agree with their own post, but are providing it as an opposing view.

I think his post is meant to be interpreted about like holding up a mirror in response to "who done this?".

so "most of the time" they are facts?
