From what I’ve learned about Jev I feel it’s just a very successful marketing campaign to developers not fully understanding data science (and deep learning). It’s nothing new, been around since 2022? Being local is an extreme advantage lol.
Fast and accurate general purpose classifiers DID NOT EXIST before Jev. You could either use an LLM to get a slow and accurate general purpose classifier, or you could use a smaller model to get a fast and inaccurate general purpose classifier, or you could fine tune your own model that would be both fast and accurate, but it wouldn't be general purpose.

Even if you trust them, maybe as an user you can be ok with that. As a non-user who will talk with people wearing Apple Watches, I disagree being recorded and my conversations with the watch owner summarized.
I’m not at ease in an airplane. I rarely fly but i actually like it, but I’m really anxious.
What helps me is always taking a seat near the wings. First that’s where the plane moves the less. And moreover, it’s pretty reassuring watching them supporting the plane in their great stability, they always move way slower than the cabin.
Plus you can alert the crew if something's off before take off (eg. loose/missing screws/panels). A forner colleague of mine did that, and got to see the entire maintenance crew come out for an impromptu RCA and incident response.
Maybe because all the AI actors, probably including Hugging Face, want to push the narrative that AI companies aren’t responsible for what their agents are doing.
I think our societies will have to settle on this.
You have to distinguish the fake color e-ink that are used in mass consumer products which are actually black&white e-ink plus an LCD layer and are expensive, and the real color e-ink where each micro capsule embeds 3 to 5 different inks of different colors.
The latest are pretty complex devices, very slow to refresh (hence why they are not used in your e-reader) and also very expensive. But the rendering is way much nicer because it’s real ink that is used to render the colors.
I don't see LCD layer here. Passive color filters, B/W capsules (which reflects or doesn't reflect incoming light, depends on orientation), TFT (thin layer transistors, not LCD — liquid crystal display!) as control to orient capsules.

Actually it was settled in the present but it was full of good human vibes and human values.
It had an incredible vibe of “humanity is good and humanity will stand against anything bad”. It was really naive in how it described the human nature but I’m sure it was deliberate.
I agree, but even they touched on how delicate our human systems were. Not sure which season, but in one of the later ones there was a major change because a new president was elected and put different people in charge that had a very different view of how the stargate should be managed and not in a good way. Felt prescient viewed from today.
Not dissimilar from how the very worst and most dangerous villains in the star trek universe were always star fleet admirals.
That was 20 years ago (1997–2006) (sorry), Eureka was a little more recent and very optimistic (2006 - 2012), the new star treks are recent but they have lost their optimism, I'm not really sure what they are.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is fun and optimistic and knows what it is, but you're right about Picard and Discovery. Very confused shows with no good self-identity and Picard especially posits a dystopian future and dystopian responses to it which is a huge letdown for a Trek show.
