My iPhone has so little free space (thanks to the ever increasing “system data”) that it can’t update to iOS 26. Point updates for iOS 18 are usually much smaller and can still be installed.

I can’t believe I’m suggesting this, but… you could install a bunch of apps to get your phone storage to <10GB free, which should block it being able to update to iOS 26.

This was a trick to block Windows updates at one point, but then they started force reserving 7GB or something with a later update. It meant that some devices with small disks that supported Windows 10 no longer met the system requirements.

There's a decent comparison at https://www.austinmesh.org/learn/meshcore-vs-meshtastic/

The good news is that almost all Meshtastic hardware can be flashed with the MeshCore firmware (and vice versa). This makes it straightforward to dive into both relatively easily.

It appears to be U.S-only too: https://help.libbyapp.com/en-us/categories/kindle-books.htm?...

Hopefully this changes in future, as I know many people find reading on a Kindle far more pleasant than a phone/tablet.

In Canada, Overdrive integrates with Kobo e-readers instead.

Oh nice, good thing my kindle is reaching its end of life then

It looks like Peter Thiel is selling his: https://www.stuff.co.nz/business/125998977/peter-thiels-quee...

I expect Larry's to look more like this: (http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2010/213/2/2/The_Eye_of_Sa...) :-)

It looks to be rather close to the sea, and at fairly low elevation?

It’s next to Lake Wakatipu, which is “310 metres (1,020 ft) above sea level at the lake shore”.

Not sure what the flood risk is, but it is surrounded by mountains.

After not being able to find the setting on my 1st gen SE, I wondered this too.

Apparently it’s: iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max. (and I assume the iPhone 12 models too)

Doesn’t seem to be on my 7 plus which fits with your list.

Not any more; he stepped down earlier this year.

Found the full documentary of Stanley Kubrick’s Boxes on Vimeo: https://vimeo.com/322890808

It’s a great little documentary.
