it’s a measure of efficiency. one might not care about tokens until vendors jack up the price and running your own comparable model is infeasible.

probably the same sort of demented people supporting Flock cameras in their own neighborhoods.

1 PM, 1 designer, 1 developer, and 10 SREs to clean up the mess.

what’s working? physically, mentally, and spiritually checking out.

as the saying goes, not wanting is as good as having ;)

no one should trust any EMR or organization with their health data, it'll all be leaked eventually.

… a jerk off instruction?

it may be better to code out TPMS anyways. I had a BMW that wouldn't allow you to enter Sport/Sport+ when TPMS light was on, what a drag.

Does TPMS have any connection to BMW traction control?

No it does not. There’s a wheel speed monitor sensor (that works via a magnet and little ridges… and is a pain to replace). That’s what the DTC (and probably ABS) uses

Thanks for the answer. Safety shouldn’t be lame and repellent.

TPMS, at ~400MHz, is a potentially valid input for traction control in certain cases, and potentially, a road quality and location signal as well.

Once all the data is available, tested, analyzed, and applied, there isn’t going to be much left to do but smile, smile, smile.

German cars can be very reliable if maintained properly. I think a lot of the bad reputation stems from owners who buy a depreciated German car and then cut corners on maintenance.

Japanese cars are more forgiving in that regard; some can go forever with the bare minimum.

If I can’t report on what I did yesterday in excrutiating detail, how will I justify my job and avoid layoffs?

You can report on that, yesterday log can give the team important signals. It’s mentioned there. I encourage to focus on planning and cooperation though. Mainly cooperation so even when reporting yesterdays work it’s worth to emphasise things that impact others.

ha, we use NewRelic for our application but the company is so cheap, they won’t even buy the infra team a license!

Haha appears some managers change only the address but the behavior is the same, I already worked on a place where we had to use free heroku addons besides the paid PostgreSQL and the dynos
