Rules of order can help. I have been in meetings where certain people essentially filibuster simply because their idea is not well liked but they think that by repeating themselves and talking endlessly, they will win everyone over. End result: it doesn’t work, wastes everyone’s time, and leaves the entire group tired and frustrated. Setting hard time limits for ideas, feedback, and open discussion can help curb this.
