Very interesting. I have suspected for a long time that due diligence was not actually due at all, but just pointless make-work.
Outsiders, no matter how prestigious their MBAs may be, are unlikely likely to come up with any kind of revolutionary insight in how the target company should be run than those who are actually running it.
Another thing that caught my eye on their website[1] is that they "avoid synergy at all costs". Maybe it makes sense in some capital intensive industries like car manufacturing, but in computing it just seems like a waste of time.
