Web3 games will never be shut down (if properly decentralized). The "game server" is effectively pay-as-you-go.

NFTs grafted on to web2 games is a start of player owned gaming, but true web3 games will be wholly player owned.

These shutdowns (along with things like Diablo's Error 37 launch) are why gamers will gravitate to games they can't get rug pulled on.
