Quiet Quitting is Hustle Culture's reckoning (ez.substack.com)

Quiet quitting is a response to toxic management.

With the establishment of “remote” working came the expectation of “always available” working. Forget work-life balance. You’re working remote, your work is your life.

No, it isn’t.

I’ve worked remote off and on since 2003, and never seen work-life balance this bad.

Since 2020, I’ve experienced 8pm emails with a request for some specific results “by tomorrow”, a seemingly unlimited expansion of duties, and similar tactics that seem designed to extract maximum labor for the privilege of working outside the office.
