I think you're spot on here.

Some very obvious features are missing, but for a v1 launch the app runs smooth, feels clean, is easy to get started, and has a jovial early internet feel.

Meta will ship most every feature the average Twitter user would want in the next month or so and then it's game over.

Aside, it's amazing how Elon's antics over the last year (or many years) have somehow made Zuck seem both personable and competent



What about the network externalities?

People are on twitter because everyone is on Twitter, not because twitter has better features...


everyone is on instagram too. the threads onboarding process is suppper simple and you can auto follow your instagram peeps as soon as they signup.


Why does it have to be game over, personally I am happy about the increased competition and hope that both Meta and X bring their A games.
