I'm not expecting the author to be a holy man. One has the right to criticize enshittification whilst eating factory-raised meat, writing closed-source code, driving a fuel-guzzling pickup truck, using macOS or Windows, and investing in Gazprom.
But. If the author in his article literally writes

And then - in the same article! - brings up a pop-up asking for the reader's email in order to spam their inbox, then the author absolutely is a hypocrite and a shill, and absolutely deserves to be called out for it.
