Thought this was a good read. I'm currently coming back from 8 weeks paternity and struggling to get back into the hyperfocus I had entered a couple week prior to taking the leave. I got months of work done in weeks, as mentioned in the referenced essay [0]. Hyperfocus like that is something I wish I had more control over, but I do agree that my headspace is very different after working very, very little for 8 weeks, instead spending so much of that time with my wife and kids; I find myself leaving work early right now.
