REST doesn't provide the documentation or the semantics of the interface. It's the API definition along with text on why to use it, when to use it, and how to use it. This is what is needed for a LLM to consume it. The documentation is a requirement. I have developed many MCP Servers, they are real and they provide me real value in my work every day.
