As far as I’m aware most manufacturers of fitness equipment were supporting ANT+.

ANT+ (vs ANT) is proprietary but licensing was free and large part of the spec are open.

There were definitely a lot of manufacturers supporting it. Not just on watches and GPS units but also on some phones.
