You are wrong on several points. It is policy not to shoot a car like that even if it is driving at the officer (which this vehicle was not doing and can clearly be seen from multiple camera angles). Shooting the driver will not stop the car, it will just kill the driver.
And in this case, shooting her made the situation much more dangerous. It caused her dead foot to stomp the gas pedal, dangerously accelerating the car uncontrollably until it crashed on the side of the road.
The guy who was involved in an identical incident a couple of months ago? Standing in front of a car in a tense situation against all logic and procedure, again?
It's surely "last resort" just as it's "last resort" for me to pull out a gun as a "last resort" in a fight I caused.
Either he is severely mentally incapable or he was looking for a reason to murder someone. The good ol' shoulder bump in the dancefloor.
What's crazier is that a clear swerve to drive away is being sold as an attack, and worse, it justifying 4 point blank shots to the face.
Police were shouting contradictory instructions at her, including to move her car. Her car had hardly starting to move when the cop walked around the front of the car and leaned in the window to shoot her in the face. Her corpse’s foot was on the gas, so the car then accelerated, crashing further down the road. That cop looks like a murderer to me from the footage. Hopefully, he will face accountability in a fair trial.
You can now see a very clear picture of exactly where that cop was standing with respect to the car as he drew his gun on the front page of the New York Times. He was not in the path of the car. And there was no reason for him to walk up and shoot her. The safe thing to do in that situation would have been to let her drive off. If they had wanted to arrest her, they could have used her license plate to find her later.
> refuses to go out of the way to stop blocking the road
This is false. In the video LEFT-full-duration-WARNING-GRAPHIC.webm [1] you can see she is making an effort to move out of the way, but is being careful as to not hit other folks around her and even waves other ICE officers to drive around her while she waits her turn.
>refuses to get out of the car
From 0:03 onwards, one ICE agent told her to move and the other told her to get out of the car. This is after they walk up to her and start hassling her.
> suddendly accelerates her 6000 pounds car
This is also false. She wasn't accelerating at full speed, nor was the cop right in front of the car.
